With this project, they create a bridge between Switzerland and Colombia, blending cultures and origins, and showcasing a new artistic perspective.
The ensemble
How can we share and communicate through music? The duo explores a new sound world, using objects and electronic materials. They also question space, the stage, and audiovisual work. For this reason, video and lighting play a significant role in their performances. They are inspired by contemporary composers such as Sarah Nemtsov, Ash Fure, Cathy Van Eck, Simon Steen-Andersen…
They are also deeply affected by geopolitical conflicts, and this project is a way for them
to express their reactions to these events. Their diverse origins (Swiss-European-Colombian) provide a richness that they use to connect different cultures and countries.

Jualiana Santacruz
Composer, Performer
Currently established in Bern, Switzerland, Colombian percussionist Juliana Santacruz has worked in different musical activities as a percussionist, performer, sound artist and educator.
Nowadays Juliana is studying a Master’s degree in Contemporary artists practice – sound arts (CAP) at the University of the Arts Bern HKB. She completed a master’s degree in Percussion Performance at HKB from which she graduated with distinction, under the tutelage of Professor Brian Archinal. In 2016 she graduated as a percussionist from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia.
Romane Bouffioux
Composer, Performer
Romane Bouffioux is a percussionist, performer and teacher based in Bern, Switzerland specialized in contemporary music.
She is particularly interested in creation, interdisciplinary and artistic collaboration in the
field of new music. She graduated her Master in Pedagogy with highly distinction in the HKB with renowned musicians such as Brian Archinal, Jochen Schorer, Simon Steen Andersen, Cathy Van Eck among other. She is particularly passionate about sound and physical aspect of the music on stage and is the founder of different project in the fields of creation, théâtre musical, electro-acoustic music called Romanesco Duo and Projet Ohr. She took part in festival such as Internationales Musikinstitut Darmstadt, Time of Music Finland, Mixtur Barcelona, Les amplitudes CH, Musik festival Bern…and played with different renowned ensemble and orchestra like Ensemble Modern, IEMA, Eklekto, Ensemble Symphonique de Neuchâtel among other. Besides written repertoire, she very willingly improvise and it’s a way for her to make new musical meeting and inspiration.
Before her studies in Bern, she studied in the Conservatoire de Strasbourg with Emmanuel Sejourné, Denis Riedinger and Stefan Fougeroux where she received her diploma with a high distinction. In 2023 she is the laureate of the Kranischteiner Musikpreis (Stadt Darmstadt).
